The Master Plan for the Business Park, shown below, identifies lots that would be suitable for Commercial or Light Industrial uses, Medium to Heavier Industrial uses,
and Professional Building uses. There is also an area identified for multi-family housing which would be suitable locations for a Senior Housing facility or some type of Assisted Living facility.

The Village of Edgar submitted a Federal Assistance Application and a Cost and Technical proposal to the U. S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Office of Administration during 2003. Working in cooperation with Congressman David Obey,
a Congressionally Mandated Grant in the amount of $695,000.00 was awarded to the Village with the purpose of the grant being to redevelop property as a small business park to complement the local agricultural community.

Grant funds were used to develop approximately 53 acres of land on the northeast corner of the Village. The acreage is located in a Tax Incremental Finance District, which was planned and implemented by the Village several years earlier.

The Community Development Authority promotes adequate places for commerce and employment. Infrastructure of the Edgar Business Park was completed in the fall of 2005, with water, sewer, and base streets constructed to accommodate truck traffic.
As the park grows, pavement of the streets is planned.
