Park and Hall Rental Reservations

Contact the Village Hall at 715-352-2891 Monday through Friday 8:15 am to 4:45 pm if interested in reserving a park or the Village Hall.

Once the date has been confirmed by the Village Office, please complete the Facilities Rental Agreement, and make your payment. Payments can be made in person at the Village Office - cash, check payable to the Village of Edgar, or debit/credit card - or mailed to us at:

Once payment has been received and the rental confirmed, the event will be added to the "Community Events" calendar with a simple indication of "Reserved". No additional event names or details will be added on the Community Events calendar.

A cancellation, of any kind, will result in no refund of any amount. All sums will remain with the Village of Edgar.

A refundable deposit would be mailed only after the event took place and there's verification that the park's shelter area is clean and damage-free. Village of Edgar Civic organizations may use the parks at no charge (if it meets Ordinances), but the reservation still needs to be made. Park closes at 11:00 pm.

Oak Street Park

Address: 204 E Lutz St., Edgar, WI 54426

Located at the heart of the community, Oak Street Park is the home of two shelters, the reading tree house, and a historic log cabin. This shady haven amidst a forest of mature trees is a perfect spot to have a family picnic in summer. The Edgar Veterans Memorial is also located at this picturesque site.

There are 14 picnic tables in the large shelter and four picnic tables in the small shelter.

Minnow Ponds Park

Address: 310 W. Chesak Ave., Edgar, WI 54426

Minnow Ponds offers a wading/bathing beach, a picnic shelter with electricity, and hiking trails through the forest and along spring-fed ponds. In winter, the upper pond is used for ice-skating.

There are 11 picnic tables located at this park.

Shortner Athletic Park

Address: 531 S 3rd Ave., Edgar, WI 54426

Supported by the Shortner Family Trust, this park is the home for soccer, football, and basketball facilities.

Picnic Shelter at Scotch Creek Park

Scotch Creek Park

Location: Just south of Thomas Hill Rd on the right and before the Scotch Creek bridge; South 3rd Ave., Edgar, WI 54426

Located just West of County Road H, Scotch Creek Park contains a picnic shelter and playground equipment: perfect to enjoy a day along the waterfront.

There are six picnic tables located under the shelter.

The beautiful Edgar Softball Diamond is located just to the Northeast of Oak Street Park.

There are six picnic tables, one all wood table, one little square table, and two little metal tables.

Scotch Creek Woodland Preserve/ Edgar Area Trail Supporters (EATS)

Access can be gained by the Edgar School District and at the corner of East Beech St and Wisconsin Avenue.

Within a stone's throw of Village streets, you can explore miles of hardwood, pine, and hemlock stands along the Edgar Area Trail System. Since the 1970s, the nature trail in the Edgar School Forest has provided year-round recreation with cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter and walking, jogging, hiking, and mountain biking in warmer months. The area is also known for its spectacular bird-watching year round. A fitness course with seven different work-out stations has been added near the entrance to the trails located by the tennis courts.

Oak Street Ball Park Complex Stairs and Ramp project 2024

We are thrilled to announce the successful funding of the Oak Street Ball Park stairs and ramp project is almost complete and was made possible through the generous contributions of several supporters.

The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin has graciously donated $12,000 to this important initiative. In addition to this substantial contribution, the project is also funded by the Village of Edgar and the generous donations from the Shortner Family Trust.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Community Foundation, the Village of Edgar, and the Shortner Family Trust for their commitment to our community. Their support will enhance the accessibility and safety of our beloved ballpark, making it a better place for all our residents and visitors.

Edgar Area Trail Supporters (EATS)

EATS stands for Edgar Area Trail Supporters. The membership is quite varied and informal. There is no list of enrolled members, no membership dues, and the “membership” consists of a core group of fewer than ten people who meet the first Wednesday of each month in the Edgar Village Hall at 6:30 P.M. to plan routine trail maintenance and special events.

The larger group of trail supporters consists of many people who contribute in various ways throughout the year. A list of some of their contributions would be: those who meet to put wood chips on the trails, those who bake bars and cookies for the snowshoe racers, those who build and maintain the bluebird houses near the trails, those who mow the grassy areas of the trail in summer and who prepare the snow for ski skating and in-line skiing in winter, those who sell tickets for the raffle to raise money for trail maintenance expenses, those who donated materials and who worked to make duckwalks and bridges for wet parts of the trails, those who have donated money in honor of someone who passed away so that the trails and woods remain accessible and enjoyable for Edgar residents, those who “break trail” for snowshoeing, those who lay out the course and those who work as starters, trail guides, registration personnel and awards presenters for the Woodland Waddle snowshoe race, those who grill and serve the food for the racers, those who collect, make, or donate prizes for the Waddle, those who take pictures for the trail website and the list goes on. EATS members even include the teacher and computer programming students at Skyline High School in Longmont, Colorado who work to construct and maintain this website as a class project. They are honorary members of EATS.
