Board of Trustees

The Village of Edgar is governed by a Village Board made up of six Trustees and the Village President. The President also serves as a Trustee by virtue of the office.

 

• Trustees serve two-year terms. Three Trustees are elected each spring at the annual election, with terms beginning on the third Tuesday in April.

• The Village President is elected in odd-numbered years for a two-year term, also beginning on the third Tuesday in April.

 

Village Board Meetings

The Village Board meets regularly on the second Monday of each month at 8:00 p.m. Meetings follow the monthly Finance Committee meeting, which usually begins at 7:45 p.m. on the same evening. All meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend.

 

Committees

Committees are appointed by the Village President and confirmed by the Village Board. These standing committees review matters assigned to them and make recommendations to the Board for action.
